Takdah Cantonment is a settlement located in Darjeeling district, West Bengal, India. It is one of the upcoming tourist centres of the Darjeeling hills. It is called Takdah, which literary means always covered, in one of the local folk-lore, as you would know when you visit the fog: you will never miss.

Dechhen Pema Tshoiling Monastery
Dechhen Pema Tshoiling Monastery or Takdah Monastery located at Takdah near a steep uphill boulder road after the market area leads to a steep stairway. You will need to climb several flights of stairs to reach up to the Monastery. But once there, the views are awesome. From here you can get sweeping view of Rungli Rungliot Tea Gardens, Teesta Valley Tea Estate and Durpin Dara View Point, Kalimpong etc. The monastery was built in 1985 and follows the Buddhist Nyingma sect. Lama Karma Gyaltchen was in charge and head monk of the monastery until 2007.
Takdah Orchid Center
Takdah has a great Orchid Center spread across vast stretch of area. It's about half a kilometer from the market area towards 6th mile. Here you can see many different kinds of unusual and colorful Himalayan Orchids being cultivated and grown. Many tourists come to Takdah particularly to visit the Orchid Center. The Orchid Center which was one of the best in Asia, was neglected for a long time. But now the state government has taken a fresh initiative to revive the center.
Tinchuley or Tinchule is a mountain village near Darjeeling. It is a relatively new tourist destination attracting off-beat nature lovers. Tinchuley was started as an eco-tourism initiative with active support from WWF during the 1990’s. As part of the initiative home stay as well as other sustainable projects such as organic farming was started.
The major attraction of Tinchuley is the calm and peaceful surrounding; you may go for a walk amidst the pine and oak trees which are in abundance in the area. There is hardly any traffic on the road and you may spend the entire day just roaming in the countryside blissfully; heedless of your city woes.
LAMAHATTA VILLAGE is very well connected to Darjeeling, Kamlimpong state highway. The beauty of the place is further enhanced by a new garden developed recently surrounded by prayer flags and wide variety of flowers and orchids to lure tourists.
