Nestled in the cosy lap of the idyllic Himalayan village, Tinchuley, is the Gurung Guest House, a simple Homestay hosted by the local Gurung family. The personalized care, attention and warmth that characterizes the hospitality of the host has only to be experienced first-hand to know how much this scores over the lavish decors, room service and other luxuries that typify regular hotels and resorts. The Homestay offers you gracious hospitality and comfortable lodgings. The lodge hosts eight well appointed rooms, one cottage and two deluxe rooms with all the basic comforts one would expect. The informal cuisine serves up a delectable variety of local dishes to serve even the most discerning palate. But finally it is the gracious, unobtrusive hospitality that only a home run lodge can offer that truly sets the place apart. Food is available at the Homestay @ Rs. 650/- per head per day. For children between 5-10 years, meal charge is Rs.300/- per head. Fixed all Meal Plan Includes Morning tea, Breakfast, Lunch, Evening tea & Dinner. FOR CHILDREN: No charge for children below 5 years of age sharing accommodation with parents. 50% meal cost chargeable for children between 5 to 10 years of age. Our meal timings are pretty strict, request you to follow the same: Breakfast: 8 AM to 8:30 AM Lunch: 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Dinner: 8:00 PM to 8:30 PM Meal charges are payable directly at the Homestay and the cost shown here does not include the same.

The word Tinchuley stands for three chullas (chulla means oven), and this is represented by three prominent hill tops that resembels the three chullas. It is an upcoming tourist destination of the region. Tinchuley is a remote hamlet located close to Darjeeling which can be reached through a drive of 32 kilometers. It is at a distance of 80 kilometers from Siliguri, 35 kilometers from Kalimpong and 88 kilometers from Gangtok. The inhabitants of this quiet settlement took an initiative for establishing their locality as a model organic village. With the help of organizations such as the WWF, the village has developed Village Home Stays. The villagers also showed keen interest in modern farming and with the help of WWF they developed floriculture, vermiculture, organic projects.

Tinchuley is an emerging Tourist Destination. It is developed as a model village with aid from the WWF. WWF has helped 17 Families residing in this area to develop the concept of Sustainable Village Tourism.

It provides stunning Himalayan views with the Majestic Kanchanjunga towering over the entire region. The places specializes in Village Tourism and one can take village walks, nature hikes and tea garden visits during their stay here. The untouched natural forest, is a birdwatchers paradise and sunrise views from specific points in this region are greatly talked about by all.

Tinchuley, the village, flanked by aromatic tea gardens and deep, lovely woods, is a perfect getaway for those seeking quietude, a change of pace and lungful of refreshing mountain air. Its serene and scenic locales are sure to rejuvenate you and even inspire compositions, particularly, out of those of you with creative inclinations music, painting, writing, poetry and photography.

A Monastry with a unique features where a monk meditated for seventeen years and the same practice is being followed by his disciples till date.

 
Gumbadara

The view point is a twenty minutes walk from the Guest house through pristine forestthat stuns visitors with excellent views of the Sikkim and Rangit river. One can also explore the old caves, which offer rock- climbing opportunities to the adventurous.

 
Orange Garden Visits

A 8Kms drive gets you to one of the best landscaped and well maintained orchards of the area – Nirmals. This family manufactures a variety of juices, pickles and marmalades at their own factory.

 
Tea Garden Visits

Tinchuley is surrounded by six beautiful tea gardens, the nearest being Rangli Rangliot Tea Estate. A garden visit to witness the nitty of tea manufacture is quite an experience in itself.
