An air-conditioned traditional hut in close proximity to the university campus at Santiniketan, Bolpur, India. This was started by a family very close to Rabindranath Tagore; the very celebrated Rabindrasangeet artist Kanika Bandhopadhyay, a close disciple of Gurudev, and famous social activist Nabakumar Mukhopadhyay. Mukhopadhyay’s son Priyam Mukherjee and his wife, Ritapa — a well-known Rabindrasangeet singer looks after the cottage now. The accommodation consists of one bedroom which can accommodate up to 6 people The room has an attached dressing unit and bathroom, as well as a well-stocked library with books on Tagore, music, poetry and arts as well as fiction. The listed price includes accommodation and free breakfast for 5 adults & 1 kid (up to 5 yrs.). Additional guests up to one can be accommodated for Rs. 500/- per person. The cottage serves traditional Bengali cuisine made with local produce served as a "Thali" which are charged separately at moderate rates for in-house guests. Details below: 1. This was started by a family very close to Rabindranath Tagore; the very celebrated Rabindrasangeet artist Kanika Bandhopadhyay, a close disciple of Gurudev, and famous social activist Nabakumar Mukhopadhyay. Myself and my husband manage this property now. The accommodation consists of one bedroom which can accommodate up to 6 people The room has an attached dressing unit and bathroom, as well as a well-stocked library with books on Tagore, music, poetry and arts as well as fiction. Our endeavour is to provide tour guests with the warm hospitality and the essence of Bolpur, Santiniketan. We will be happy to host you and do our best to make this an everlasting experience.
